Well, there's one thing to know about this town. Not a person doesn't want me underground.
Tonight I am suddenly sentimental and extremely bored. That's why I find myself listening to Modest Mouse's "Night On the Sun." You're hopelessly hopeless. I hope so. For you. I don't know if that's how Modest Mouse punctuated that line in their lyrics, but that's how I punctuate it.
Also, I just took a buttload of pictures of The Cosby Show that I recorded. That is, I took pictures of my TV screen as an episode was playing.
Now I'm watching Hope Floats. Harry Connick, Jr. just told Sandra Bullock that she used to be audacious.
So...... here's what I got.
Vanessa, probably my second favorite Cosby.
This is Theo revealing to his mom, Claire Huxtable, that he gets to go on the TV show Dance Party.
He is so excited!
Then Theo's BFF Cockroach shows up, and this is Theo inviting the unknowing Cockroach to go on Dance Party with him!
Oh my God! Are you serious, Theo?
Yes, Cockroach! It's true!
Novelty! Here's 1988 Adam Sandler with Theo and the guys talking about Dance Party.
Vanessa is teaching her dad, Dr. Huxtable, something. I can't recall just now what lesson she was giving him, but she enlisted Rudy's help.
Rudy doubts her dad's learning progress.
Later in the episode, the family watches Dance Party.
I like the rare Cosby's when the two oldest sisters make an appearance, Denise and Sondra. Why weren't they on there more?
This post is pretty disjointed already, so I make no apologies for now mentioning that I've had a deep, deep hankering to listen to this.
It was the first "album" I ever owned. It was on a clear cassette tape, and I drove my parents (and grandparents) insane by playing Alvin and the Chipmunks sing Michael Jackson's "Beat It" over and over and over...... Ah, that was a very special Christmas morning indeed.
I'll close by saying... have yourself a nice big glass of whatever it is that brings that golden childhood smile to your face, Internet. Good night.
