Eight Bananas
Hannah turns 8-years-old this week, and we celebrated big time this past weekend (or as big time as you can get when the ground is covered with ice and snow). Her cousin Sydney stayed all weekend, and they enjoyed maximum girlie time. We all went to see Deck the Halls on Saturday. Hannah's choice. And then there was the issue of the party on Sunday.
My decorating efforts.
SB Shortcake Cake & the gifts.
A present I wrapped in inside-out Christmas paper. Since my birthday is close to Christmas as well, I've seen a lot of this in my lifetime. Sorry, Hannah.
Hannah loves the fact that Strawberry Shortcake has red hair and freckles just like her.
The child guests. Peyton & Sevin up front. Hannah, Syd & Luke in back.
The grandparents supplied some cold, hard moolah. Shopping spree pending.
From her cuzzins & Uncle Stevie.
From her dad and me. She screamed when she opened this.
I think my mom was equally excited about the make-up. She has a new pink Caboodle to store it all in, not pictured.
We got her this red-headed Bratz doll. It's a genie, I guess? Anyway, it has a magic lantern that you ask a question and turn over like an 8-Ball for the answer.
We successfully managed to keep Sevin from "assisting" the candle blow-out. For me, this is a milestone in parenthood.
Sevin sketches a tree in Win, Lose or Draw. At this point, as you can see, he has put on some bling because that's how Sevin rolls.
Peyton draws a teeny little Christmas tree. His team, the boys, didn't guess it. I think because he put the star on the bottom rather than the top. It was an excellent Christmas tree though.
Sydney's take on a motorcycle. Her teammate Hannah was unable to guess this one.
The party favors included these giant sunglasses.
My mom liked them too. Note my father-in-law's signature socks/sandals combo in the background. When Larry Logan commits to a fashion staple, he is unstoppable.
Have a fun day, Internet.
